Miltona, Minnesota, is a small community in Douglas County. It was named after Lake Miltona, a lake located on the left side of Minnesota State Highway 29. Miltona was incorporated in 1930, and it’s home to over 400 residents.

The residents even hold a festival to commemorate a tornado that occurred in 1970: Tornado Days. (Actually, the event honors the rebirth of their community during the aftermath of the tornado.) It has 99 campsites that offer water and electricity, coin laundry, movie nights, and much more. If you enjoy playing golf, you should check out Lake Miltona Golf Club. It’s open to the public, and you great a scenic view of Lake Miltona as you play. With an area of 97 acres, Spruce Hill Park is the second-largest park in town. It’s filled with trails, a baseball field, picnic shelters, and a creek you can dip your feet in. Miltona Community Center is a nice place for making new friends. Sign up for an exercise class or participate in an upcoming auction. Miltona has one magnet school. You can find more education options for your children in Alexandria and other adjacent towns.
